A brass ring is attached for hanging, while a lacquer coating helps resist tarnishing. Before use in an oven, remove lacquer with a lacquer stripper.

Copper molds should be washed by hand in hot, soapy water without abrasive pads or cleansers, then towel-dried. Lacquer-free copper can be polished periodically, or allowed to develop a warm patina over time.
